Goals are reached because you take one step at a time. Individual steps that are well chosen help achieve goals if the goals are realistic. Many people set goals but have no idea what steps to take to achieve those goals. Take the time to think about the small steps you need to take to help you achieve your goals.

Do not let your past limit what you think is achievable. Looking at past events in your life for a frame of reference can do just that. As people get older their life reflects many experiences. What sometimes happens is that we think we don't need new experiences since we've accomplished so much.

The opposite is actually true.

New experiences are needed on a continuous basis. If you're not moving forward in life, you're moving towards death. I know we all die but you can bet I'll be living life to its fullest, enjoying every minute of every day until that time comes. Think about people who know the end is near, how it changes them so they begin to appreciate all that they have been given and people that surround them. Why is an imminent death needed to spur this change? Live life with no regrets including spending time having fun with the people you love.

I've been asked, "Why do you continually want to change things when they are working good right now?"

As I examined this question I realized that if we continue to do the same things day after day, month after month, year after year, these same things begin to lose their effectiveness. The world is constantly evolving, and we need to keep evolving as well. If not, we get left behind. Ah-ha! THAT's what happens to some when they retire, they get left behind! Take a look around you at the people you know who have retired in the past 3-5 years. Are they changing, upgrading, and evolving, or are they sitting still, being left behind, or maybe even moving backwards?

So let me ask you this, how much longer do you plan to live? As you set your goals on the future, how does it change what you do today?
